Something New; Something Good...

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Jones Soda. All opinions are 100% mine.

I have a habit of waiting for the mail lady to come and I would always watch for her from our bedroom window...Today as I watched the mail lady put our day's mail in our mailbox, I also saw her put a "green box" in there...I have a feeling what it could be but I didn't want to get my hopes high...LOL!!!

So after "mine" went down the street to get our mail and the "green box", it was just then that I believe that it is indeed my Thanksgiving Postie Pack from IZEA...excited, I hurriedly opened the box and there they are in front of me, wrapped in bright-orange paper, my IZEA Turkey Hat, a Thanksgiving note with Sir Ted Murphy's goofy face (LOL!), and last but definitely not the least,a bottle of Tofurky and Gravy Jones Soda ...

Of course, I was very excited to try it...and when I did, I was like; "WOW!!!it really tasted like gravy!...but it tasted like a soda too...oh, I guess because it's a GRAVY SODA!!!LOL!

Now, coincidence or not, we were also having barbecued chicken drumsticks and pork chops for dinner and guess what?...

I ate my barbecue chicken and pork chops with Tofurky and Gravy Jones Soda...they went so well! and I must confess, it made my dinner so much better...

If I could, I would like to send some of these Tofurky and Gravy Jones Soda to my family back home in the Philippines so they can try and taste it too...

It's A Pretty Day...

Today we woke up early (around 9:30 AM) planning to do some shopping and some errand...but it did not turn out as planned because even though we got ready to go at around 11AM, "mine" got caught up in "something" and the original plan turned out to be a little "joy ride" around Hoover area and back to Highway 280 where we got caught up in the busy day traffic...

Good thing it was a pretty day today...the sun is out and shining bright; the weather is kinda cool and the surrounding is very pretty and pleasant to look at...I got a lot of pretty pictures I took while we were out and around today...

Coins, Coins & More Coins....

The photo above is a container-full of coins...pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters...these are "mine's" growing collection of loose change (pocket change)...he usually throw these coins in a cup holder in our car and when it gets full, he would bring them up to the house and throw them in this big plastic container...over a period of time, it had accumulated...in fact, he already counted off $40 worth of these coins and used them...

I finally decided to finish counting them and putting them in coin wrappers/coin-tainers so we can deposit them in the bank or use them to buy something...DANG!!!counting these coins is a very boring and DIRTY job...I actually have grey-black hands after I'm done counting all of them...

After about 12 hours all in all, I finished counting them...I also ran out of coin wrappers so I actually wrapped them in papers...the final count?....FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE BUCKS....I can actually buy something I really want with it, if I want to...haha...

Dirt Devil Holiday Buying Guide...

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Hoover and Dirt Devil. All opinions are 100% mine.

The holiday season is just right around the corner and people are already busy making their Christmas shopping lists; making sure that everyone will get the perfect gift...

As for me. I have quite a few things in my list and I have been checking a lot of stores online to find the best deals and the best gifts I can find...like every one else, I prefer shopping online because I can avoid the shopping hustle and bustle in the malls and I can find a lot of options with just a few clicks...

But it can be very confusing also especially because there so many online stores in the Internet and it may take a lot of time to find the best bargains and best gift there is...good thing I stumbled upon Dirt Devil Holiday Gift Guide...

Blog_cover

What I particularly liked about Dirt Devil is their "Gifts For Him" Holiday Deals offer which features many great gift ideas for those "hard-to-buy guys" just like my hubby...it actually gave me a lot of ideas on what to buy for him now...as for the girls, you don't have to worry because they also have "Gifts For Her"...

Another great thing is the "Family Favorites" section which features great holiday gift ideas for your friends, relatives and the entire family...practical and reasonably-priced items that are essential and very usable...

They also provide Free Shipping Shortcuts and more importantly, they also provide over 300 ways to save on online shopping...just what everybody needs...shop and save!

Dirt Devil Holiday Buying Guide is indeed the ultimate shopping guide...

Stickers Anyone?...

(My Assorted Stickers...)

I have been very busy with other things lately that I haven't even updated my blogs and all my other "crafting" projects are on hold...

I still haven't quite finish doing my scrap booking projects for I lack some needed embellishments for it...I did a major de-cluttering job in our bedroom too...organizing all my mess and my things..."mine" on the other hand, did a major house cleaning...

So anyway, I have been telling him that I want to go to Hobby Lobby to buy more art and craft materials I need to finish all my projects so we finally went last night since he's off work...

Like a kid in a candy store, I wanted to many things especially the colorful and the pretty nice ones...including those assorted stickers in the picture above...there are so many choices that I had a hard time choosing which to get...not to mention the fact that "mine" is just letting me do the choosing since he said he's not really a "sticker" person...haha...now that I have a lot of them, the next thing would be the "sticking" them part...

Christmas In "Pinas"...

48 days more to go and it's Christmas na...

For all Filipinos, we all know that Christmas in the Philippines will never be the same in other countries...iba talaga ang Pasko sa Pilipinas...sobrang saya, sobrang makulay, sobrang nakakatuwa...

It's the time of the year when all the family members go home and gather to celebrate this time together as one, united family...

Filipinos abroad would always make sure they can come home on Christmas time...I miss all of those even when I was still in the Philippines...most of the time,I would be in Baguio spending Christmas alone but I always make sure to call them right before 12...I miss all those neighborhood kids who would come to our house every night to sing some carols...I miss putting up our little Christmas tree in our small living room...I miss the time when me and my Mom would do grocery shopping for our Noche Buena...and I will never forget those times when my siblings and I would have a blast with our "bamboo" canyons which my father made for us...ahhh,those firecrackers every where...and of course, our neighbors who always come to our house to eat with us...

Dang!!!I could never have that here...Christmas here in Alabama would just be between "mine" and me...Christmas in "Pinas" will always be irreplaceable...
Watch and enjoy this video!!!

This Fruit Called DURIAN...

(Durian Fruit...)

I was browsing through some pics I have in my cell phone when I happen to see these durian fruit pics I took the last time I went home to my parents' house which was sometime last November 2008...

I know right then that it would be my last time to eat everything I want to eat because by December I would be coming here in the US already...so my parents and my siblings made sure I can have whatever I want including these durian fruit...
Ahhh...wonder when I can eat these delicious fruits again...maybe sometime in the year 2010 when our plan to have a vacation there will push through...it's really true that you don't know what you got until it's gone...I miss so many foods, veggies, and fruits that I used to just ignore when I was still in the Philippines...now that I'm here in the US, thousands miles away from my beloved Philippines, I craved so many foods and things that I know I can never eat and have here...and durian is just one in my very long list...

The next time I go to PI, I'll make sure to eat and get all that's in my "cravings" list...

A Loyal Blogging Companion...

(Abbie Murphree; our beloved Yorkie)

"Mine" has always been working the night shift...he likes to work at night because most of the time patients are sleeping and doctors are seldom present to order and supervise the nurses around...

So most of the time, I am alone once he leaves for work at around 5:30PM...which leaves me to clean up the kitchen and the dishes; sometimes watch a little TV, and then I do my blogging...even though from the time I get up (around 11Am-12NN), I am checking for blogging opps from time to time while making coffee for "mine" to drink when he wakes up which is around 3PM...

Once I get up, Abbie would get up from her pink bed and would start following me around from the kitchen to the bedroom, to the back porch to drink my coffee, right until we are all alone in the house and when I do my blogging...she would be there in her bed which is just right beside where my PC station is...she would be watching me and just listening till sometimes she gets bored I guess and she'll go to sleep...even when I take a break from my blogging and go to the bathroom she would be following me...haha

If not for her, I would be very lonely every time "mine" goes to work...

Only In My Dreams...

(Seaweed Salad...)

I actually dreamed about this last night...

For us Filipinos, this one is common recipe...especially among coastal town and provinces...SEAWEED SALAD; fresh from the sea...

The one in the photo above is commonly known in our place as "lato"...I don't know what they call this in other parts of the Philippines...

One thing I will never forget about this particular food is that we really love to eat this especially when we got to the beach for a swimming trip...and this one is so easy to prepare...all one need is some onions, ginger, tomatoes, and some vinegar and it's good to go...you can also add come sliced cucumber in it...and this is so good too paired with boiled "kamote" (sweet potato)...

Hummmm...missing the Philippines so much now!
